The RW Perio
Gum recession (as it is clinically known) happens when the gum tissue has receded and lowers its position on the tooth, exposing the roots of the teeth.
The RW Perio Preventive can involve both non-surgical and minimally invasive surgical techniques. If a non-surgical approach is taken this will involve disinfecting using piezo and airflow technology, applying serum to the exposed root to strengthen it, and designing a bespoke regime for home care to avoid further recession. With surgery, the aim is to cover the exposed root and thicken the gums to prevent further recession and additionally improve aesthetics.
If surgery is completed we recommend taking the day of the surgery off. If anaesthetic has been used the mouth will be numb for up to 2 hours post-treatment, however you will look and sound normal due to the advanced anaesthetic we use.
Soft foods will be required for up to 5 days and over-the-counter painkillers may be taken for a few days as needed. Your bespoke instructions will be clearly communicated to you in advance.
