This bespoke evaluation ensures your gums and supporting tissues are in optimal health before orthodontic treatment begins whether with fixed braces or aligners. This will ensure safer and more predictable orthodontic results. This may also be completed during orthodontic treatment or post-orthodontics depending on requirements.
Orthodontic Specialist Assessment
Our clinicians perform a comprehensive periodontal examination, evaluate bone support, and identify any early signs of inflammation or infection that may affect orthodontic success. This thorough assessment will provide you with clarity, confidence, and a personalised care plan tailored to support healthy tooth movement.
During the appointment, a detailed specialist periodontal chart is completed. This involves measuring gum positions, assessing for pockets, checking for bleeding, recession, and tooth mobility, which are the key factors in determining the health and stability of your gums. If your focus includes gum aesthetics, additional measurements are taken to guide precise treatment planning.
X-rays and photographs are taken as needed to provide a comprehensive picture of bone levels and dental anatomy, which is essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. We may also take a 3D scan to better assess and monitor any gum recession.
At the conclusion of your assessment, your Specialist will review the findings in full and discuss it with you. You will also receive a detailed digital report within 1-3 days, ensuring clarity and confidence before/during/after your orthodontic treatment.

Orthodontic Maintenance
<strong>This bespoke orthodontic maintenance programme is designed specifically for patients currently undergoing orthodontic treatment. This service ensures teeth, gums, and appliances remain clean, healthy, and free from hard-to-reach biofilm.</strong>
Delivered by our Advanced Hygienist, this programme supports patients with braces and/or clear aligners. Over a series of structured visits, we provide targeted cleaning around brackets, wires, and aligners, remove biofilm safely using our GBT
approach, and monitor gum health to prevent inflammation or plaque accumulation. Each session includes personalised guidance on home care techniques to maintain a healthy, confident smile throughout treatment.
This plan is designed for patients who are already undergoing orthodontic treatment, as well as those with healthy gums who are planning to start orthodontic treatment.
<strong>This plan will consist of 4 appointments spread over the course of 12 months.</strong>
Advanced Orthodontic Maintenance
A dedicated care pathway designed to support the long-term health of your teeth and gums throughout your orthodontic treatment.
This plan ensures your mouth remains healthy, clean, and stable while undergoing orthodontic care. Over a series of structured visits, we provide targeted cleaning around brackets, wires, and/or aligners, remove biofilm safely using our GBT approach, and monitor gum health to prevent inflammation or plaque accumulation. Each session includes personalised guidance on home care techniques to maintain a healthy, confident smile throughout treatment.
<strong>Across tailored 3 monthly visits, your Advanced Hygienist will closely monitor gum health, plaque control, and tissue stability, while providing personalised oral hygiene advice specific to your orthodontic needs.
In addition, two essential reassessments with our Gum Specialist are carried out every 6 months to thoroughly review your progress, detect any concerns at an early stage, and ensure your treatment continues safely and effectively.</strong>
This structured approach offers meticulous monitoring, early detection of potential issues, and consistent support for a healthier, confident smile. <strong>This plan will consist of 4 appointments with Advanced Hygienist spread over the course of 12 months and 2 annual specialist reassessments with a Gum Specialist.</strong>
